"What do you mean by "top supply connection" (model #4656) and "back supply connection" (model #4651)?"
Toilets that are supplied from the top use an exposed flush valve, whereas back-supplied models use flush valves that are concealed inside the wall. Please look at the diagram above, which shows both types of valves (the #4 arrow is pointing to an exposed valve, while the concealed valve is pictured near #2).
