A whole world of plumbing

"I need some new handles but don't know how many splines or the name of the manufacturer of the faucet, can you help me?"
Faucet handle selection can be very difficult if a customer doesn't know the name of the manufacturer of their faucet (stem) and/or if they are unable to remove the old insert without damaging the spline pattern so that they can count the splines (points) on the stem correctly. The spline pattern (point count on the stem) is the necessary part for replacement. The Internet is wonderful and we have many thousands of customers but with faucet handles this might be a case where you are better off going to a good local plumbing supply store with your stems or faucet.

"Could you describe the handles a little better, please?"
The cross handle is ceramic, the lever handles are acrylic (clear or "porcelain like") or oak. The cross handles have either "cold" or "hot" in black on their centers. The acrylic handles haven't any cold/hot designation. We do not have any that are marked "diverter" or "shower." Both have a chrome "skirt" that is 1 1/2" from the bottom of the handle (outside) that will fit flush against the sink or shower. The distance inside the skirt from the bottom of the insert to the bottom of the skirt is 1/2". If the stem section that sticks out from the surface of the sink or shower surface is shorter or longer than this, it will not work.

"How do install them?"
To install: Place the insert on the stem. Using the set screw on the side of the skirt, remove the handle portion of the unit from the skirt . Place the skirt over the insert that is now on the stem and screw the insert to the stem using the original screw from the stem. Place the handle on the skirt and tighten the set screw. If you need to adjust the position of the handle, loosen the set screw, move handle to desired position and re-tighten.

We do not offer pictures of splines or insert adaptors.
