"What is the difference between electric and these hydronic models?"
Electric is "electric oil filled". Mineral oil is heated by an electric element. Hydronic is empty and hot water is circulated through it.

"Which is better suited for home use, the hydronic models or the electric models?"
Both are for home use. Electric is easier to install and more easily turned on-and-off. Hydronic is used when there is a recirulating system in the house.
