"Why are the Pressalit seats more money than the basic toilet seats that I can buy at any home center/hardware/plumbing store? Are they really worth it?"
Pressalit seats not only have aesthetic design (pleasing to the eye) but are very durable as well. They are made in Europe. They can stand up to rough treatment, such as burn marks and stains. Simply clean with a wet cloth and the seat will look like new. They come with a stainless steel hinge and therefore, unlike "cheap" seats/hinges, these seats will not shift all over the place. They are made of a very strong durable material called Duroplast (very hard/strong plastic) and are solid-colored and virtually scratch proof with everyday normal use.
"I am not sure which exact color that I need. How can I be sure to order the correct color toilet seat?"
If you do not know the exact color toilet seat you need, then you can order a color-match toilet seat kit, which includes color charts to help you match the color you need. Once you find the color you need from the chart, you mail in a form (prepaid) and the colored toilet seat will be shipped to you.
"Why do some of the dimensions listed in your sizing chart show a range of measurements?"
The hinges are adjustable; the "A" and "E" measurements can adapt the seat to fit multiple bowl dimensions. Please note that the hinge bolts are 2 5/8" long and cannot be removed and replaced with longer bolts.
"I have a very unique old toilet made in Europe and I am looking for a toilet seat whose bolts go through the toilet with a distance of about 7 1/2" between the bolts. Do these seats come with adjustable bolts that might work with my unique toilet?"
Please check the "E" measurements in the chart above. Because the hinges are adjustable, the seat bolts will line up with holes that have center-to-center measurements within the range listed. However, please review the rest of the dimensions on the page to determine whether the seat itself will fit your toilet. Also, please note that the hinge bolts are 2 5/8" long and cannot be removed and replaced with longer bolts.
"The bolts on the seat for my one-piece toilet attach horizontally through the wall of my tank, instead of straight down behind the bowl. Will these seats work for me?"
Unfortunately, no. These seats fit some (not all toilets with the more-common two-piece design, and the bolts attach straight down behind the bowl opening.
"I need hinge bolts that are longer than the 2 5/8" bolts that come with the Pressalit hinges. Can the bolts be replaced with longer bolts?"
The hinge bolts are an integral part of the hinge assembly and cannot be removed or replaced with longer bolts. Be sure to measure the length of the bolts on your present hinges to be certain those on the Pressalit hinges will be long enough to go
through your toilet bowl with enough room to tighten sufficiently.
