"I noticed that both V5002 and V5013 are the "New Look" acrylic teardrop handles, but one fits an old style faucet and the other fits a new style faucet. What is the difference?"
V5002 fits new style Valley faucets which have a square style stem. The handle is attached to the stem via a screw through the top of the handle. Valley made the V5013 to fit the old style cartridge which has a round stem. This handle has the "new look" but uses a set screw (old style) to attach to the cartridge.
"My acrylic handles keep cracking. Are the ones that you sell better than what I have been buying elsewhere?"
We sell original and not "will fit" Valley brand acrylic handles, and that might make a big difference. On the other hand, it might make no difference if you have been using certain cleaning products. Delta (another brand of faucet), for example, put out a warning that said: "Dow Bathroom Cleaner with scrubbing bubbles and Lysol Foaming Basin Tub and Tile Cleaner must not be used on the clear knob handles and levers. Use of these cleaners can result in cracked or severely damaged handles. If over spray gets onto the handles, immediately wipe them dry with a soft cotton cloth." We aren't experts on plastics such as acrylics, but we have seen some plastic handles (from other manufacturers as well) become brittle with silicone sprays and other cleaners. We recommend only buying genuine Valley brand handles (preferably from us of course) and to only use liquid hand cleaners made for doing dishes.
Valley faucets are no longer made.
